Our best qualifying result of the year and our first appearance in Q2!

Brock did really well in the rough Q1 conditions, setting the 6th quickest lap time and less than a second from P1, however, we did too many laps which meant we had a low fuel load going into Q2.

Brock didn’t manage to take advantage of the better water conditions in Q2 before the engine started losing fuel pressure and him having to return to the pontoon.

We were expecting the times in Q1 to drop towards the end of the session so we stayed out and improved our time further which in hindsight wasn’t necessary and would have saved us some fuel for Q2.

The Sprint races are coming up this afternoon. We are in SPRINT 1 and will be starting from P6.

A disappointing race for us after such a big effort to qualify for the Grand Prix.

Brock returned to pit lane and retired himself from the race after just fifteen laps. We lacked pace but we will re-group and find the speed we need to fight for a top ten position again.

We finished eighth in todays sprint, just not quick enough to fight for the required top seven position.

Tomorrow morning we will participate in the last chance repechage qualifying session in attempt to snatch one of the last two remaining (P15 & P16) starting grid positions for the Grand Prix.

The team are working back tonight on the engine in preparation for another big day tomorrow.

Congratulations again to #AC97 who won his sprint race from pole and will start the Grand Prix tomorrow from P2.

We have qualified eighth in our group.

We are lacking a bit of pace around the circuit still but are making some changes and having a swing at the set up for the sprint race in attempt to improve.

Brock must finish seventh or higher in the sprint race to automatically qualify for tomorrows Grand Prix.

After starting a disappointing seventeenth, Brock Cohen from Perth, Western Australia, battled through the grid of twenty drivers to finish eighth place in last weekend’s F1H2O Grand Prix of France in Macon.

2023 is Cohen’s debut year in the F1 powerboat world championships with the most recent result his best to date. Him and his younger brother, Damon Cohen, head mechanic and engine builder, invested in a new boat and engine combination which paid dividends and assisted them to stamp their presence within the competition.
Brock had this to say post-race; “I am over the moon with this result. Me, my family, my sponsors and my entire team have worked really hard for this and we deserve it” and continued on with “I think I got up to fifth at one stage but just didn’t have the pace as the water conditions improved to stay there. I also lost power steering with about six or seven laps to go so I am just happy I was able to hold position and stay inside the points”.

After a thirteen-year stint of national racing on the east coast of Australia, Cohen joined forces with Italian ComparatoF1 team in January this year for the 2023 season. Cohen began racing in March 2009 in the Formula Future category and secured victories in numerous club, state and national championship races, going on to race in the Formula 3 class from 2013 to 2018, winning the title in 2016, the same year he represented Team Australia in the H2O Nations World Cup.

Now coming into the second half of the F1H2O season, the twenty-six-year-old Australian sits fourteenth in the drivers’ standings, only eight points behind a top ten spot and fourty points behind the current championship leader. Eighth place and a points finish for Brock in #Mâcon

During the action packed race, Brock managed to work his way through the field as high as fifth but crossed the line in a very respectable eighth position and is coming home with three world championship points

We fixed the electrical issues which troubled us in Free Practice but were on the back foot going into qualifying with no data to reference for tuning or prop selection.

Brock only managed to try two props in the twenty minute session, finishing P17 and 1.3 seconds from the top ten.

Tomorrow mornings warm up session will be used to get much needed on-water time to further fine tune the new package in hope of finding extra pace for the race.

11th in the Grand Prix of China!

We are so happy with this result considering our challenges this week. Brock was under pressure the entire race for position but managed to hold his spot.

We have qualified sixteenth for tomorrows Grand Prix. The team are happy with this result and are hopeful for good race pace tomorrow.

We found the issue with the engine from qualifying and repaired it however something was still not right as the engine was lacking power which is the reason why Brock decided to pull out of the race after one lap.

The new issue was rectified quickly in time for the second race with the engine now fixed but as you all saw, it was impossible to complete the second race due to the extreme water conditions.

Alberto was struggling with food poisoning which hampered his results in the race, he said “it was the worst experience of his life”, but still managed to finish 12th.
